Pear Tree - 'Williams' Bon Chretien

'Williams' Bon Chretien was renamed 'Bartlett' when taken to the U.S. from a nursery in Turnham Green run by a Richard Williams in 1797. How it had got there from its original site, Aldermaston in Berkshire, is not known. Lovely taste, hardy and reliable, but better suited to dryer areas. Now the world's most popular pear.

They will grow up to over 3.5m. 'Williams' Bon Chretien is self sterile, so requires a pollinator; see our section on Pollination Groups.

Supplier: R.V. Roger Ltd.

All our pear trees, including 'Williams' Bon Chretien, are bare root, so they are only available between November and April. During lifting season, there will be a delay between placing the order and dispatching due to pressure of orders, which are dealt with in date sequence, and the weather. Orders taken from June-October will be confirmed in late October/ early November after a nursery stock take, for dispatch from November. Please consult our planting and care guide on receipt of your order.

Your purchase helps us support a range of charities, which are related to the products we sell.
