Apple Tree - John Standish
A very pleasant late season eating apple. Small fruity and refreshing red apples, good cropper, and used to be widely grown commercially. Award RHS medal in 1922 after showing at the Imperial fruit show, although originally raised in Ascot by grower John Standish fifty years earlier, shortly before his death. Good canker resistance, so will do well in the wet west too.

See our section on Pollination Groups to help you select your apple trees.
The rootstock for our apple trees, including John Standish, is the most vigorous available - in this case MM106. M25 rootstock will produce the standard trees of a traditional orchard, which will grow over 4.5m, and M106, or MM106, 3 to 4m. Please refer to our size guide for details.
All our John Standish apple trees are bare root, so they are only available between November and April. During lifting season, there will be a delay between placing the order and dispatching due to pressure of orders, which are dealt with in date sequence, and the weather. Orders taken from June-October will be confirmed in late October/ early November after a nursery stock take, for dispatch from November. Please consult our planting and care guide on receipt of your order.
Your purchase helps us support a range of charities, which are related to the products we sell.
