Apple Tree - Leathercoat Russet
First recorded by a Mr. Brotherston of Tyninghame Gardens in East Lothian, this could be a very old apple indeed, possibly going back to the 16th century. Late cropping, heavily russetted. It's a very hard apple for sale, so one for the collector!
Supplier : The Mother Tree
See our section on Pollination Groups to help you select your apple trees.
The rootstock for our dessert, or eating apple trees, is the most vigorous available - M106 and M25. M25 rootstock will produce the standard trees of a traditional orchard, which will grow over 4.5m, and M106 a good garden tree of 3 to 4m. Please refer to our size guide for details.
All our Leathercoat Russet apple trees are bare root, so they are only available between November and April. During lifting season, there will be a delay between placing the order and dispatching due to pressure of orders, which are dealt with in date sequence, and the weather. Orders taken from June-October will be confirmed in late October/ early November after a nursery stock take, for dispatch from November. Please consult our planting and care guide on receipt of your order.
Your purchase helps us support a range of charities, which are related to the products we sell.
