Crocus Speciosus

These beautiful autumn flowering crocuses provide welcome forage for late flying bees and hoverflies (pictured). Plant 4 inches deep in light shade and they will naturalise readily, even in grass. RHS AGM.

Also known as "Bieberstein's Crocus" after archaeologist and botanist Friedrich August Marschall von Bieberstein, Crocus speciosus originated in the Caucasus.

We sell Crocus speciosus in 20 bulb lots, which will cover around 40cm square.

These bulbs are sourced from Holland. The grower there has the Milieukeur label of environmental quality, however, which includes a ban on the use of neonicotinoids, for example.
