Eucryphia x nymansensis 'Nymansay'
Eucryphia are attractive and healthy looking small trees from Chile which need full sun - although will tolerate some shade - but cooler roots if possible. Keep sheltered from cold winds. 'Nymansay' was raised by Nymans nursery in Sussex in the First World War. It's a stunning cross between E. glutinosa and E. cordifolia, and quickly won an RHS AGM. Eucryphia x nymansensis 'Nymansay' are beautiful trees, like the Japanese pagoda tree producing fragrant white flowers in that period when everything is looking dry and past it. For this reason they are very helpful for large gardens and bees alike, and come recommended by The British Beekeepers' Association as an ornamental. Expect your plant to reach over 12m tall at maturity. We currently offer 'Nymansay' as a large pot grown plant:
Available: All year round
Size: 3 litre pot (125cm+ tall)
Flowers: August - September
Soil type: Moist, well drained neutral to acid soils
