Sweet Chestnut (Castanea sativa) 'Marsol'
Unlike the other chestnut cultivars we sell, 'Marsol' is a natural chestnut hybrid. It's a cross between a European chestnut (Castanea sativa) and Japanese (Castanea crenata). 'Marsol' is a vigorous disease resistant tree, planted widely in France - home of the marron. It is a heavy cropper, bearing delicious, large nuts after 4 to 5 years - so from around 3 years for the plants we sell.
