Tetradium Daniellii (Bee Tree) - aka Euodia hupehensis
I was thrilled to find this tree to sell. I bought a small one for the garden a couple of years ago and it has thrived on our heavy clay. Although it seems to like a variety of soils it doesn need to be kept out of cold winds. It's an attractive and rare tree, fast growing to around 10m and originally hailing from Korea and Southwest China. Seems to be pretty drought resistant too.
Guess what - the scented white flowers it produces in late summer are a bee magnet, though which type of bee I'm yet to find out, as ours is yet to flower. It also produces purple berries, and has delicate pretty leaves.
Size: 7.5 litre pot
Flowers: October - December
Soil type: Most well drained soils
